About TestYourSetup

Free tests for the gear on your desk, built to be honest about what a browser can measure.

TestYourSetup started from a simple frustration: most online hardware testers either show a coloured key and nothing else, or print precise looking numbers that a web page cannot actually know. We wanted tests that give a clear answer, such as "your left stick drifts, set a dead zone of 0.08", and say plainly when a number is an estimate.

How we test

• Measured results come straight from a browser API with a known meaning: which key fired, which button you pressed, where the stick sits.
• Estimated results are worked out from timing or from something you do, like moving the mouse a set distance. We show the method and how far to trust it.
• Visual or listening checks are yours to judge, like spotting a dead pixel or hearing a rattle. We never turn those into a score.

Privacy

Every test runs on your device. Key presses, clicks, controller input, microphone audio and the camera image are never uploaded. See the privacy page for details.
